ROCHESTER, IL - Richard L. Rogers, 76, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015, at Memorial Medical Center.

Richard was born on April 10, 1939, in Mt. Vernon, the son of James Cassell and Flora Harlow Rogers. He married Mary A. Croft Aug. 21, 1983.

Richard was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving for four years. He retired from AT&T after 34 years of service and attended Knox Presbyterian Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, James Rogers; and one sister, Judy Kirkland.

He is survived by his wife, Mary, of Rochester; one daughter, Shelly A. Sherman; four grandchildren, Kyle and Kelsey Caswell and Brett and Sam Sherman; two brothers, Cassell and Michael; three sisters, D'Ella, Dorothy and Jean; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015, at Wilson Park Funeral Home in Rochester with Pastor Paula Carmichael officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to Knox Presbyterian Church.
