SPRINGFIELD, IL - Raymond E. Pillischafske Sr., 84, of Springfield, died Saturday, July 11, 2015, at St. John's Hospital.
He was born Nov. 1, 1930, in Springfield, the son of Lillie Mae (Paul) Anders.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He owned and operated a local bar called the Hawaiian Village. He held several jobs before retiring from IDOT. He was an avid Cubs fan, and loved fishing and playing poker.
He was a proud family man who enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Don and Louis Pillischafske; and one sister, Shirley Nelson.
He is survived by five children: Tina Emord, Trina Hunt, Brenda Davis (Charlie), Ray Pillischafske Jr. (Mary) and Courtney McGath (Shawn); many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at noon on Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at Ellinger-Kunz & Park Funeral Home.
Cremation will be accorded by Springfield Crematory following the funeral services.
Inurnment will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery at a later date.
