Ralph F. "Bud" McCurley

ROCHESTER, IL - Ralph F. "Bud" McCurley died July 25, 2014, at his home in Rochester.

He was born Dec. 11, 1921, in Springfield, to James and Lela McCurley. He married Kathryn Arline Krems on June 25, 1943. She resides at Villa Health Care in Sherman, Ill.

He built custom homes with his brothers (Jim, Robert and Jack), McCurley Brothers. He later worked at the Lincoln Capitol Airport as a maintenance supervisor. He was lifelong member of the Cherry Hill Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Naval Coast Guard in WWII. He was an avid fisherman.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James McCurley; sisters, Lillian Heffron and Mary Sprague; and brother, Robert McCurley.

He is survived by his wife, Kathryn McCurley; son, Richard McCurley (wife, Bonnie) of Belleville; daughter, Kay Jensen (husband, Mark) of Sioux City, Iowa; son, David McCurley (wife, Beverly) of Rochester; eight grandchildren: Mark, Alison, Mauren, Chresten, Jennifer, Joe, Andrea and Chris; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn Moody and Doris Wetzel; and brother, Jack McCurley.

Visitation will be from 9:00 - 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at Wilson Park Funeral Home in Rochester. Graveside services will follow at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association .
