Phillip Paul Ferguson, Sr. 81, of Springfield, passed away on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at his home. He was born in Springfield on October 17, 1939, the son of Reverend Hugh and Stella (Smith) Ferguson. He worked for Illinois Department of Corrections as a truck drive and was an ordained minister for over 40 years at Christian Assembly Church.

Phillip is preceded in death by his parents, wife; Donna; sister, Joyce Ferguson; two brothers, Gerald and Samuel Ferguson.

He is survived by his children, Phillip Jr, Kim, Cindy, Chris, Steve and Michael; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; one brother, Hugh J. (Pat) Ferguson, Jr.; and sister, Cheryl Denk.

Visitation will be held on Friday at Ellinger-Kunz & Park Funeral Home, 530 N. Fifth Street, in Springfield from 2:00PM until the time of the memorial service at 4:00PM with Reverend Paul Rose and Dawn Stuemke officiating.
