Otto J. McMurray, 85, of Springfield, passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Generations Nursing Home in Lincoln.

Otto was born in Springfield IL, on November 11, 1934 the son of Otto F. McMurray and Loretta Kelley. He married Velma Donaldson on February 17, 1958 in Springfield at Third Presbyterian Church; she preceded him in death.

Otto was a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean Conflict.  He worked for Pillsbury Mills, Allis Chalmers/Fiat Allis and retired from Horace Mann. He loved fishing, camping, woodworking, traveling and was a member of the VFW.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; and daughter, Brenda K. McMurray

He is survived by his son, Brad (Mischelle) McMurray of Springfield; two grandchildren, Gina and Jordan McMurray of Springfield; step-brother, Barney Kelley of Springfield; sister, Bonnie Lindsey of Springfield; several nieces, including Angela A. Allen (fiancé, Russ VanHuss) of Springfield; and several nephews and cousins.

Graveside services will be at 12:00 noon on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at Camp Butler National Cemetery with military honors.
