Mary C. Hohimer Morrison

MECHANICSBURG, IL - Mary C. Hohimer Morrison, 63, passed away Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

She was born Aug. 18, 1949, in Springfield, the daughter of Harvey and Margie Childers Hohimer. She was married to Luther Ross Morrison for 47 years.

She was employed by the Hospital Sisters of St. Francis for 13 years and was a lifelong caregiver for many families (Gladys Knox Family). Mary loved dancing with Ross and they were past members of the Checker Board Square Dancers.

She loved her sister's slumber parties, garage sales (purses), playing with her great-grandbabies and her dogs, Dusty, Cloe and Powder. She also loved the early Drive-In years, camping and bonfires with her family.

Mary has been called to heaven to join her parents and will be missed by all her family.

Survived by her husband, Luther of Mechanicsburg; daughter, Teresa Long (Matt) of Mechanicsburg; sons, Tracy Morrison (Kim) of Riverton and Rusty Morrison of Mechanicsburg; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; five sisters: Carol Alexander (partner, Scott), Lois Harrison (Dennis), Margie Wilson (partner, Troy), Janey Hohimer and Ella White (Robert); many loving nieces, nephews and cousins, especially Bobby; one aunt (Peg); sister-in-law, Beulah; and lifelong best friend, Ella.

Visitation will be Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013, from 5 p.m. until time of memorial services at 6:15 p.m. at the Fullenwider-Park Funeral Home in Mechanicsburg. Pastor Larry Hanson will be officiating.
