Mary Jane Harlan

SPRINGFIELD, IL - Mary Jane Harlan, 96, of Springfield, died Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at her residence.

Mary was born Aug. 6, 1918, in Berlin, Ill., the daughter of James L. and Christina Merritt Owens. She married Fred Ivan Harlan; he preceded her in death on March 19, 1996.

She worked for St. John's Hospital ER and retired after 25 years.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Verna Clark; and one grandson, Dale Clark.

She is survived by two daughters, Margaret Parks and Joyce Goldesberry, both of Springfield; one son, James Harlan of Springfield; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 22 great-great-grandchildren; five great-great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, and nephews.

Cremation was accorded by Springfield Crematory. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 15, 2015, at Ellinger-Kunz & Park Funeral Home with Deacon Al Laads officiating. Burial will follow at Berlin Cemetery.
