Martin Robert Garcia, 61, of Springfield, Il passed away on December 31, 2024. Martin was born in London, England to Sandra Kidd and Francesco Garcia on May 4, 1963. When Martin was young, the family moved back to the United States.

Martin went on to serve in the United States Army for almost 30 years before retiring. Martin served in several conflicts including Operation Desert Storm and the Gulf War. He retired from the Army as a Chief Warrant Officer 4.

Martin was preceded in death by his mother. He is survived by his brother, Frank (Rosalia) Garcia of Springfield; and sister, Michelle DuPont of CA; nieces, Ashley Garcia and Julie Piskin, as well as his father.

Visitation will be held at Ellinger-Kunz and Park Funeral Home, 530 North 5th St. Springfield, IL 62702 on Friday January 24, 2025 from 10:00am till the time of the Funeral Service at 11:30am. Cremation Services have been accorded and the burial will follow the funeral at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
