SPRINGFIELD, IL - Marilyn A. Rhodes, 76, went home to her Lord on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2015, at St. John's Hospital.

She was born Nov. 8, 1939, in Springfield, to William S. and Eva K. Parsons.

She was preceded in death by her parents and son-in-law, Norman Gill.

She was a manager at Roy Conn's restaurant for several years, and a waitress at the Country House, but she made a career of caring for her children, grandchildren, friends and neighbors.

She was a longtime member of Third Presbyterian Church and the Married Couples Sunday school class. She was also a member of Grandview Women's Auxiliary Club.

Marilyn enjoyed the outdoors, Bingo, crossword puzzles, bowling, playing cards, and watching the Chicago Cubs. She took great pleasure in supporting the activities of her children and grandchildren.

She will be greatly missed by daughter, Debbie Gill; son, Randy (Linda) Rhodes Sr.; granddaughter, Michelle (Sean) Davidson, all of Springfield; grandson, Randy (Tina) Rhodes Jr. of Rolla, Mo.; great-grandchildren: Lauren Davidson, Zachary Rhodes, Kody McClellan and Shylah Black; sister, Betty Bollman of Springfield; brother, Fred (Phyllis) Last of Farmington, Minn.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In honoring Marilyn's wishes, her remains will be cremated and there will be a private burial service at Roselawn Memorial Park.

Her family would like to thank Marilyn's caregivers at Sunrise Manor in Virden and St. John's Hospice for their caring and kindness.
