SPRINGFIELD, IL - Marilyn J. Flynn, 70, of Springfield, passed away Friday, March 11, 2016, at St. John's Hospice.
Marilyn was born June 14, 1945, in Springfield, the daughter of John C. and Margaruite Skoda Flynn.
Marilyn graduated from Ursuline Academy in 1963. She worked for the State of Illinois, retiring in 2003 after 37 years with the Legislative Research Unit.
She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church and was an avid sports fan of Notre Dame, Chicago Bears, and Chicago Cubs.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Michael and Patrick Flynn; and one sister-in-law, Arlene Flynn.
She is survived by one brother, John (Nancy) Flynn of Lake St. Louis, Mo.; one sister-in-law, Lawanda Flynn of the Dominican Republic; nieces and nephews: Erin Smelser and David (Shari) Flynn, both of Lake St. Louis, Mo., Keith (Kara) Flynn of Wentzville, Mo., and Wayne (Robin) Flynn of Ellabelle, Ga.; her nieces and caregivers, Jillane Flynn and Kerri Landgrebe, both of Springfield; 10 great-nieces and great-nephews; and several cousins.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at Calvary Cemetery with the Rev. Clint Honkomp O.P. officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: American Legion Post 32.
