Marilyn Jean Capranica, 63, of Springfield, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at St. John's Hospital.

Marilyn was born on August 10, 1953 in Springfield the daughter of Gilbert and Dorothy Petreikis Capranica.

Marilyn worked in the cafeteria at Lanphier High School and was also a hairdresser.  She was a member of St. Cabrini Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Gilbert J. Capranica.

She is survived by one brother, Gregory Capranica; one sister, Carolyn Capranica; nieces and nephews, Briana (Jake) Kress, Tracy (Ryan) Stonebrook, Gregory Capranica Jr., Damon Capranica Parrish and John Capranica Parrish; and great nieces and nephews, Finnegan Kress, Giovanni and Giana Capranica.

Visitation will be from 5-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Ellinger-Kunz & Park Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 27, 2017 at the funeral home with Sister Mary Jean Traeger, OP officiating.  Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
