Marilyn Lois (Bowman) Rentschler, 85, of Dawson, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at Country Lane Memory Care in Riverton.

Marilyn was born on October 31, 1938, in rural Christian County, IL., the daughter of Cleo F. "Butch" and Cennie M. (Graham) Bowman. She graduated from Effingham High School and started working for the state. Marilyn met Fred Rentschler and they married in 1970. To this marriage, JoAnna Elaine and Frederic Otto Rentschler were born. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred; daughter, JoAnna; and sister, Doris.

She is survived by her son, Otto (Leigh Ann) Rentschler, and their three children, Nolan, Frederic and Ceeney; siblings, Ken (Marvena) Bowman and Ruth (Ron) Frye.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 12, from 10:00AM until the time of the funeral service at 12:00PM at Fullenwider-Park Funeral Home, 200 S. Church St. in Mechanicsburg. Burial will follow at Mechanicsburg Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Mechanicsburg Cemetery Association.
