Marian "Mick" Haines Marshall

SPRINGFIELD, IL - Marian Haines Marshall, "Aunt Mick", 97, passed away of natural causes on Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014, at St. Johns Hospice in Springfield.

Marian was born July 23, 1917, in Cotton Hill Township, the daughter of Jesse and Maggie (Drillinger) Funderburk. She married Roy Sherman Haines on July 23, 1938; he preceded her in death in 1978. She then married C. Lloyd Marshall in 1981; he preceded her in death in 2004.

Marian was a school teacher in the county school system prior to working and retiring from the State of Illinois Dept. of Public Aid in 1976. She loved flowers and plants and was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs. She was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her sister, Dorothy J. Thein, and her family: Sharon (Max) Strasbaugh and Patricia (Pat) Marconi of Springfield, and James Roy (Marissa) Thein of Arlington, Va.; stepsons, William "Bill" (Mary Ann) Marshall of Wisconsin and Robert "Bob" Marshall of Texas, and his family: Billy (Annie) Marshall of Texas; sisterA
