Margaret (Maggie) Ann Bond, 77, of Springfield, passed away on Friday, December 10, 2021 at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Maggie was born on August 23, 1944, in Springfield, IL, the daughter of William and Helen (VanDenBossche) Bond.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Earl Bond.
Maggie is survived by one sister, Sandra Kruszka of Florissant, MO; three sons, Brian (Claudia) Bond of Springfield, IL, James (Lisa) Bond of Temple, TX and Stanley (Heather) Bond of Dwight, IL; six grandchildren, Matthew (Wendy) Bond of Temple, TX, Andrea (Jeff) Henebry of Sumter, SC, Christopher (Nadia) Bond of Chatham, IL, Rylie and Olivia Bond of Dwight, IL and James Bond of Temple, TX; nine great grandchildren, Christopher, Tyler and Madison Bond of Temple, TX, Mariella, Wesley and Jackson Henebry of Sumter, SC, Addison Kappes, Cora and Katarina Bond of Chatham, IL; Goddaughter Victoria Schaljo of Florissant, MO and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Maggie lived in Springfield, IL her entire life enjoyed traveling to visit her family and friends, reading romance novels, watching the Hallmark Channel and talking with her family and friends every day on the phone.
Maggie retired from the Illinois Department of Revenue in 2016 after over 30 years of service and spent many years as a caregiver at the Mini O'Beirne Crisis Nursery.
Maggie was a proud AFSCME union member and served as the President of her union local at the Department of Revenue.
A private memorial service will be held for Maggie in Springfield. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
