Marcia J. Fidler, age 102 ½, passed away on December 7, 2024 in the presence of her loving family. She was born June 11, 1922 in Charleston, Illinois to Alva Levitt and Lena Painter Levitt. They preceded her in death.

Marcia married Billie B. "Bill" Fidler on February 14, 1957 in Charleston. He preceded her in death on February 18, 1993. She later married Roy Brown, who also preceded her in death.

Since giving her life to Christ at age 8, the church became a central part of her life. Marcia was actively involved with the First Church of God, Real Life Church, and Southern View Chapel. She was also active in a variety of community organizations including Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, the PTA, Sangamon County Home Extension, and the Sewing Guild.

Marica was preceded in death by her brother, James D. Levitt, and three sisters, Joanna Cargill, Edith Barnes, and Linda McCoy.

She is survived by her 2 sons, James Earl (Catherine) Fidler and John Eric (Wendy) Fidler, both of Springfield, and 2 grandsons, Joseph Edward "Joey" Fidler of Springfield and Christopher Lane Fidler of New York, New York. She is also survived by a step-daughter, Deborah Plummer of Springfield, 2 step-grandsons, Todd Plummer of Springfield and Robert (Laura) Murphy of Carmel, IN; a step-great grandson, Trent Plummer and 2 step-great granddaughters, Mika and Selene Murphy.

Funeral arrangements are under the supervision of Ellinger-Kunz and Park Funeral Home, 530 N. 5th St. Springfield, IL 62702. Visitation will be held there on Friday December 13, 2024 from 9:00 am till the time of the funeral service at 11:00 am with Marcia's son, Rev. John E. Fidler officiating. A private burial service will be held at a later date.
