Marcella Ruth Tuxhorn

TAYLORVILLE, IL - Marcella Ruth Tuxhorn, 87, formerly of Rochester, Ill., died Monday, April 7, 2014, at Meadow Manor Nursing Home in Taylorville.

Marcella was born July 30, 1926, in Taylorville, the daughter of Thomas Clifford and Helen G. Stroud Pearson. She married Harold J. "Tag" Tuxhorn on Feb. 3, 1951, in Taylorville; he preceded her in death in 1994.

She graduated from Stonington High School and retired from Sangamon Paper Company in Taylorville.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, one sister, and one brother.

She is survived by two sisters, Waneta Durbin of Chatham, and Mable (Don) McConnell of Taylorville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. on Friday, April 11, 2014, until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. at Wilson Park Funeral Home, the Rev. Josh Bennett officiating. Burial will follow at Rochester Cemetery.
