Mabel Marie Seay

ILLIOPOLIS, IL - Mabel Marie Seay, 91, died on Friday, Jan. 30, 2015, at St. John's Hospital.

Mabel was born on Jan. 22, 1924, in Geff, the daughter of Francis and Alice Rollings Shaffer. She married William "Bill" Seay; he preceded her in death in 1986.

She was a clerk at Johnson's Market for several years. She enjoyed crocheting and bowling. She was a member of Illiopolis United Methodist Church.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Irvin Seay; one granddaughter, Elizabeth Faulkner; and one son-in-law, Sam Smith.

She is survived by one son, William (Sandy) Seay, Jr.; five daughters: Donna (Fred) Faulkner, Diane (Joe) Maddox, Mary (David) Shaw, Linda Smith and Kay (Jay) Ealey; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; six great-great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at noon on Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2015, at Illiopolis United Methodist Church with Reverend C. W. "Butch" Reneker officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery.
