Lois M. Creel, 78, of Pleasant Plains, passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Prairie Village Nursing Home in Jacksonville.

Lois was born on February 25, 1938 in Spann Hill, KY the daughter of Elmer and Lydia Richardson Roberts.  She married Robert Creel; he preceded her in death.

She was a homemaker most of her life but had also worked for Franklin Life for nine years and for a few years at Brandt Consolidated in the office.  She attended East Keys Baptist Church and Pleasant Plains Baptist Church.  She enjoyed reading Nora Roberts books and playing Bingo.

She was also preceded in death by her son, Stuart Creel; one brother, Harold Roberts; and two sisters, Erlene Pyle and Wilma Reynolds.

She is survived by one daughter, Kathy Goldsby of Pleasant Plains; three brothers, Odell (Ruby) Roberts of Pleasant Plains, Orville Roberts and Merrill (Paula) Roberts both of Springfield; two grandsons, Christopher Goldsby of Pleasant Plains and Alan Creel of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Richland Creek Baptist Church with Reverend's Duane Turley and Keith Masten officiating.  Burial will follow at Pleasant Plains Cemetery.
