Libbie Mae Cothren, 87, of Normal formerly of Rochester, passed away Wed. May 25, 2016 at Heritage Health in Normal.

She was born November 23, 1928 in Miller, Arkansas the daughter of Roy Herman Moody and Hattie Martha Bell Murphree Moody. She married E. J. (Eulas Jackson) Cothren.

Mrs. Cothren was a devoted member and supporter of the First Baptist Church in Rochester IL.  She retired after more than 35 years of teaching and continued to enjoy working with children as they discovered new experiences. She also enjoyed flowers and gardening.

Libbie was preceded in death by her Parents; Husband, E. J.; and three brothers, Dan, Ethan, and Emuel Moody.

She is survived by one son, Kirby J. (Debbie) Cothren; one daughter, Lisa M. (Jeffrey) Caughron; five grandchildren, Lacey, Jillian, Derek, Trent, Kristyn; two great-grandchildren, Cooper and Finnegan; one sister, Texelda Lockard; and one brother, Eulon Moody.

Visitation will be held at the First Baptist Church in Rochester IL on Tues. May 31st from 9:30 to 11:00 AM with funeral services immediately following at 11:00. Burial will occur following a graveside service at the Brownsville Cemetery in Greer's Ferry Arkansas on Wed. June 1st at 2:00 PM.
