Obituary

Lela J. Noble, 97, of Springfield passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at Lewis Memorial Christian Village.

She was born October 28, 1919 in Pleasant Plains, the daughter of Samuel H. and Edith SanDidge Noble.

Mrs. Noble was a graduate of Browns Business College. She retired from the Internal Revenue Service where she worked for many years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Springfield her whole life. She also was a member of the Civil garden Club, Bridge Club, and served on the board of directors for the Sangamon County Historical Society.

She is survived by a niece, Glenda (Bill) Schleyhahn of Ashland and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three siblings, Hazel A. Noble in 2000, Samuel Ralph Noble in 2007, and Marjory N. Riley in 2009.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 noon on Monday, November 14, 2016 at Ellinger-Kunz & Park Funeral Home with Rev. Beth Wagner officiating.  Burial to follow at Pleasant Plains Cemetery

Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church or the Illinois Presbyterian Home.
