Ledabelle Eunice Spurgeon, 84 of Rochester, IL, went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday on February 22, 2025 at 6:28 pm surrounded by her family.

She was born on January 23rd, 1941 in ST. Louis, Mo. The daughter of Omer & Goldie (Gearhart) Ritchhart Sr. Ledabelle Ritchhart married Mervin Spurgeon on April 4th 1956 in Bourbon, Mo. She was a beautician, a member of the Rochester Rescue Squad, a LPN at St. Johns Hospital, St Joseph's nursing home, and an assistant manager at Helping Hands. She was a member of Springfield Southern Baptist Church and later a member of Rochester First Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband Mervin Spurgeon of Rochester, IL of 69 years. They had 3 Children, Merleda (Fred) Logue, Mervina Elston and Belvin Spurgeon. 5 grandchildren, Kathie (David) Muller, Kyle Logue, Luke (Ariel Joy) Elston, Ariel C. Graber, Vincent Spurgeon and 13 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her siblings Arliss, Darrol, and Omer Edward Jr Ritchhart, Inamay Bronco, and Shirley Passch and her son in law Davey Joe Elston Jr.

There will be a celebration of life on April 5th, 2025 at 11am-3pm at the Rochester Community Center.
