Lawrence "PaPa" Richards Sr.

SPRINGFIELD, IL - Lawrence Monroe "PaPa" Richards Sr., 82, of Springfield, died on Friday, April 17, 2015, at his residence.

Lawrence was born Dec. 25, 1932, in Rochester, Ill., the son of Gerald and Ethel Conlee Richards. He married Carol Mae Williams on March 5, 1960; she preceded him in death on Oct. 29, 2014.

Lawrence worked for Allis Chalmers and later as a truck driver. He was a past member of Teamsters and enjoyed bowling.

He was also preceded in death by his parents and four brothers: Don, Jack, Mike and Denny.

He is survived by six children: Tina Turasky, Butch Richards, Laurie (Aaron) Pippin, Tim Richards, Jon (Michelle) Richards and Julie Richards; three sisters: Carol, Sharon and Sandy; one brother, Steve; 20 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Larry and Carol were soulmates and are now together again watching over all who loved them so very much.

There will be a celebration of life for Larry "PaPa" and Carol "Mimi" at a later date.
