Larry G. Leonard, 70, of Rochester, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

Larry was born on April 27, 1953, in Springfield, the son of Robert "Tom" and Marilyn (Moomey) Leonard. He married Jackie Connell on September 27, 1985. Larry enjoyed bowling, fishing, gardening, road trips, birdwatching, and spending time with his kids and granddaughters. He enjoyed watching the Illini and the St. Louis Cardinals, going on tropical vacations, canoeing with his canoe group of friends, playing golf once a year in the Meister Tournament, and taking the road less traveled. Larry was always taking a different route to get somewhere.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Larry is survived by his wife, Jackie; sons, Brett (Michelle) and Tyler (Jacquie) Leonard; three granddaughters, Stella, Audrey and Adelyn Leonard; twin brother, Gary (Wendy) Leonard (who Larry drop-kicked thru the goal post of life); sisters, Annette (Mark) Bottrell and Shelly (Dennis) Page as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 29, 2024 from 10:00AM until the time of the funeral service at 12:00PM, at Wilson Park Funeral Home, 200 E. Main St. in Rochester, with Reverend Melissa Ebken officiating. Burial will follow at Rochester Cemetery
