Kathryn Elizabeth Heineman, 86, of Rochester, IL passed away on Wednesday August 13, 2025, surrounded by her family. Kathy was born in Halfway, KY on January 9, 1939, the daughter of Orville and Irene Hill.
To know Kathy, Grandma Freddy to her family, was to love her. In the words of Willie Nelson, she was in fact an "Angel Flying Too Close to the Ground." She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Kathryn worked as a receptionist at the Springfield Pillsbury Plant and retired from Liberty Mutual in Taylorville. She always stated that her favorite job, after retirement, was watching her great grandchildren.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Fred Heineman; children, Shelia Wareham (Bruce Buckmire) and Gayla Swan (Marty); grandchildren, Michael P. Wareham (Terri Ann Cossey), Kristen Chi (Tom) and Joshua Hill; great grandchildren Laynee Eisenbarth, Lucie Eisenbarth, Owen Hill and Ario Hill.
Cremation services will be accorded.
A private graveside will be held for the family at Rochester Cemetery where Kathy will be laid to rest.
In lieu of flowers, please make a charitable donation to the Parkinson's Foundation (httgs://www.Parkinson.org) in Kathy's name.
