Katherine Kraus Zappa, 85, of Springfield, passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at St. John's Hospital.

Katherine was born on December 20, 1931 in St. Louis, MO the daughter of Joseph Franklin and Theresa Johns Jones.  She married Michael Kraus; he preceded her in death in 1979.  She married Leo Zappa; he preceded her in death in 2010.

She worked for Vic's Pizza for 16 years and later retired from St. John's after 28 years as a pulmonary function therapist.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Patricia Lynn MacDonald; and sister, Caroline Jones.

She is survived by one daughter, Michele "Mickey" (Robert) Price of TN; son, Michael (Delores) Kraus of Springfield; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Cremation will be accorded.  There will be a memorial gathering from 1-3:00 p.m. on Saturday July 15, 2017 at Ellinger-Kunz & Park Funeral Home.
