Karen Sue Winders, 59, of Springfield, passed away on Friday, June 23, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center.

Karen was born on December 2, 1957 in Springfield the daughter of Walter and Georgia Miller Winders.

She was a waitress at Sunrise Café for 15 years. She enjoyed being with family and cooking.  She liked country music and was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan but was secretly a Bears fan.  She also loved watching TV, especially CSI.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Bill Bob Miller and Richard Winders.

She is survived by three sons, Scott (Lynne) Winders of Waverly, James (Jessica) Winders of Springfield and Austin Lowe of Springfield; two grandchildren, Alison and Rachel Winders; one sister, Mary Anders of Springfield; one brother, George (Kim) Winders of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial services at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Ellinger-Kunz & Park Funeral Home with Reverend Vaughn Beeman officiating.
