Karen L. Hewitt, 72, of Edinburg, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2020 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

Karen was born in Springfield on February 24, 1948, the daughter of Patrick and Eleanor (Mohn) Green. She married Tom Hewitt on June 6, 1967 and he survives.

She enjoyed hot rodding, crafts, dancing and shopping with her sister. Karen had a heart as big as the ocean and always put others first.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and one grandson Ty Hunter Hewitt.

She is survived by her husband, Tom; daughter, Tammy (Tim) Hupp; and son, Thomas (Sherri) Hewitt; one granddaughter, Brittany Miller; Sister Patsy (John) Jarvis; Brother James (Anita) Green and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Cremation will be accorded by Park Funeral Homes.
