June Wilson, 92, of Rochester, passed away on May 19, 2026 at The Villas Senior Care Center in Sherman, IL. June was born on November 3, 1933, in Springfield, IL. She will be sadly missed by her two children, Karen Comerford (Riverton) and Matthew (Becky) Wilson (Rochester); five grandchildren, Zachary and Linzy Beauchamp and Amanda (Carisa) Wilson, and Connor and Carson O’Sullivan; two great grandchildren Ryker Wilson and Kain Beauchamp. June is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Hyler and Sara (Holt) Hyler, and her son in law Kent Comerford, and her beloved rescue dog “Sweetie Pie”. The family also wishes to recognize the kindness and support of close family friend Debra Trickey.
June worked in Information Systems as a data entry operator for nearly 25 years at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. She had a huge heart and passion for all animals, especially her Arabian horses. She started with horses by getting her first pony with her Grandma Holt, at an age she could barely walk. She had and cared for horses for nearly 90 years. Some of her greatest horse memories was traveling the US and Canada with her granddaughter Amanda. Together, the both of them shared their intense enthusiasm, commitment and deep devotion to showing Arabian Horses. She shared her loved and had overwhelming joy for all of grandchildren and great grandchildren. June was a member of the Arabian Horse Association, Arabian Riders and Breeders, Inc., Northern IL Arabian Horse Activity Club, Region II Arabian Horse Association, Humane Society Mustang Rescue Association, and the American Saddlebred Association.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 30, from 10:00AM until 11:00AM at Wilson Park Funeral Home, 200 E. Main St. in Rochester. A private family graveside will be held at a later date at Fairview Cemetery in Bluffs, IL.
Memorial donations may be made to the Animal Protective League in Springfield, IL, where she rescued “Sweetie Pie”
