SPRINGFIELD, IL - Julianne G. Glatz, 62, of Springfield, passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at her residence.

Julianne was born on September 11, 1953 in Springfield the daughter of James and JoAnn'e Stevens Glatfelter. She married Dr. Peter Glatz on June 14, 1973.

Julianne received her bachelor's degree of fine arts from the University of Illinois. She went on to sing with the Chicago Symphony from 1978-1979. She taught cuisine cooking classes and for the last ten years she was a food columnist with the Illinois Times. Julianne was a lover of life, she enjoyed the outdoors, birds, flowers, and her bird feeders.

She was preceded in death by her father.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. Peter Glatz; two daughters, Anne (Benjamin) Schaeffer of Brooklyn, NY and Ashley (Cory) Meyer of Springfield; one son, Robert Glatz of Windham, VT; mother, JoAnn'e Glatfelter of Springfield; and three grandchildren, Robert and Peter Schaeffer and Madeline Rose Meyer.

There will be a memorial gathering from 2-4:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 7, 2016 at her residence, 3303 Spaulding Orchard Rd., Springfield, IL.
