Joyce Miller, 81, of Decatur, passed away on Monday, September 12, 2016 at St. Mary's Hospital.

Joyce was born on January 17, 1935 in Oelwein, IA the daughter of Frank and Alice Martin Rohrig.  She married Ralph R. Miller on December 17, 1960; he preceded her in December 23, 1999.  They had been married for 39 wonderful years.

She was a homemaker and a member of Illiopolis United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed decorating, hanging wallpaper, playing cards, swimming, singing, and dancing.  She enjoyed visiting with people and socializing, and loved her grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; and three sisters.

She is survived by two sons, Dan (Tina) Miller of Whitehouse, OH and Andy (Debbie) Miller of Humboldt, IA; two daughters, Sally (Jerry) Letterly of Latham, IL and Karen Miller of St. Louis, MO; ten grandchildren, Megan, Kelsey, Charlie, Max, Elise (Kyle), Sydney, Jake, Elena (Spencer), Marissa (fiancé, Billy), and Sophia; one great grandson, Ryker; two brothers, Don (Beverly) and Richard (Sharon) Rohrig; one sister, Louise (Don) Adams; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

We would like to give special thanks to the staff at St. Mary's Hospital including Dr. Raqeem and Dr. S. Kairouz and Pella Hospital in Iowa.

Visitation will be from 5-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Illiopolis United Methodist Church.  Memorial services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 16, 2016 at the church with Reverend C.W. Butch Reneker officiating.  Private burial will follow.

Memorial contributions may be made to Animal Protective League or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
