SPRINGFIELD, IL - John R. "Robbie" Johnson, 64, of Springfield, died on Monday, Sept. 7, 2015, at St. John's Hospital.

Robbie was born May 15, 1951, in Springfield, the son of John Wilson and Gloria Anna Parisotta Johnson.

He worked as a programmer for AT&T and was a member of St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church. He loved his dogs, loved being around water, and had a great sense of humor. He was always saying "It's a good life".

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Jerry Melton.

He is survived by one daughter, Angie Johnson of Kentucky; two sisters, Janelle Melton of Rochester and Janet (Carmen) Ferrari of Springfield; one brother, Jimmy (Julie) Johnson; and many nieces and nephews.

There will be a family memorial service at 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 11, 2015, at St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church.
