Jimmie Ray Bahr, 80, of Springfield passed away on Friday December 22, 2023. Jimmie was born in Newport, Arkansas on January 6, 1943 and was the son of Roland D. and Flora M. (Austin) Bahr.

Jimmie was a semi-truck driver all his adult life. He was also an avid car and motorcycle enthusiast and belonged to several clubs. He enjoyed working outside and especially in his garden. Jimmie was always ready to help a friend in need.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Darla; and his sister, Joan Harvey.

Jimmie is survived by his daughter, Dawn Miller (Jeff) of Springfield; son, Jimmie M. Bahr of Riverton; daughter, Jennifer M. Mann of Springfield; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He also leaves behind his beloved dogs that traveled everywhere with him, Muffin, Ruby, and Daisey.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday January 2, 2023 at Ellinger-Kunz and Park Funeral Home (530 North 5th St. Springfield, IL 62702) from 9:30am till the time of the Funeral Service at 11:30am. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park where Jimmie will be laid to rest.
