Jason Carter, 39, of Springfield IL, passed away on December 23, 2019 at his home.

Jason was born in Merriville IN, on July 21, 1980 the son of David Carter and Roxann (Fauver) Carrillo.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, but was especially close with his grandmother, Elizabeth Johnson and great grandmother Bernice Kaplon.

He is survived by his children; Aidan and Isabella Petrone; mother, Roxann Carrillo; fiancé, Theresa Petrone; siblings, Joshua Stokes, Jillian Delagarza, and Heather Byrd; aunts, Lesa Kaplon, Tamey Taha, Dianna Estrada, Candace Bracey, and Cathi Daigle; as well as many extended family members and most beloved friends.

Jason was an amazing father and he loved his fiancé Theresa with his entire heart. He also enjoyed cooking and was never afraid to challenge anyone to a cook off.  Jason was the peacekeeper of the family and had an amazingly positive influence on the people around him. He helped raise his siblings, stepping in as a father figure and was extremely close with the extended family he was raised with.

Cremation services are being carried out by Ellinger-Kunz and Park Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
