Obituary

James "Jim" Phillip Churchill, 67, of Springfield, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Heritage Health Hospice.

Jim was born on May 4, 1950 in Springfield the son of Paul and Lois Churchill.  He married Carol Ferre in 1971; and later married Gail Briggs.

He graduated from Tri-City High School and went on to own Lawn Busters.  He had various other jobs, including farming and lastly being a parking attendant downtown.  Jim was always a jokester.  He enjoyed going to car shows, watching tractor pulls, and collecting John Deere items.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and lifelong friend, Dave Billbie.

He is survived by his wife, Gail; children, Robyn (Daniel) LaVeck of Merritt Island, FL, Ryan (Erin) Churchill of Farmersville and Mike (Sherry) Churchill of Sequim, WA; stepchildren, Shane and Brandon Mefford; brothers, Bob Churchill of Mt. Sterling and David Churchill of Moberly, MO; grandchildren, Sierra, Raeven, Drew, Lexi, Riley, Haelee, Rian, Finnegan and Carrigan; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Cremation will be accorded.  Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 2, 2018 at Ellinger-Kunz & Park Funeral Home with Reverend Joe Lewis officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
