James Charles Nelson, Jr. 73, of Springfield, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025 at Concordia Village in Springfield, IL. Jim was born on May 13, 1952, in Chicago, the son of James Charles Nelson, Sr. and Margaret McNamara Nelson. He married Eileen Offerman on August 10, 1974 and she survives.

Jim enjoyed playing golf, traveling, watching Jeopardy and sports, and spending time with his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and one sister Mary Anne Nelson.

Jim is survived by his wife; Eileen; children, James "JC" Nelson III (Yen Hua) of New York, NY., Timothy (Annie) Nelson of Des Moines, IA.; three grandchildren, Vinh, Liem and Luc Nelson of New York, NY.; sisters, Barbara Nelson of Mokena, IL., and Peggy (Don Merker) Bauer of Bridgeview, IL.

Visitation will be held on Saturday November 15, 2025 from 9:00am until 10:45am at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Sherman, IL. Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00am.

Memorials may be made to Central Illinois Foodbank or to Midwest Mission in Pawnee.
