James A. Moore, 75, of Mt. Auburn, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at Lincoln Village Healthcare Center in Lincoln, IL.

James born on October 29, 1949, in Springfield, the son of Robert and Edna (Merriman) Moore. He married Beverly Ann Hamm on September 24, 1988 and she preceded him in death on October 19, 1999.

James served his country as a Marine during the Vietnam War and was a lifetime member of Northenders VFW Post 10302 in Springfield.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife; three brothers, Clarence "Rocky" Moore, Frank Moore, and Robert Moore; sisters in law, Wilma and Sarah Moore; and brothers in law Jerry Seymour and Bobbie Tipsword.

James is survived by his stepson, Joseph (Tonya) Etter; granddaughter, Shelby Etter; brother, William Moore; two sisters, Leanna Tipsword and Carolyn Seymour; and sisters in law, Sharon Moore and Edith Moore.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 20, from 10:00AM until the time of the funeral service at 11:00AM at Fullenwider-Park Funeral Home, 432 7th Street, in Illiopolis. Burial will follow at Mt. Auburn Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
