ROCHESTER, IL - James Lee "Jimmy" Funderburk, 29, of Rochester, passed peacefully to his heavenly home on March 3, 2015.

Jimmy was a loving husband to Caroline Schmitt-Funderburk, of Rochester. He truly adored and cherished his daughter, Emilee James Funderburk and son, Ethan Marcus Liston. He was a loyal son to his parents, James A. and Patricia Bennet-Funderburk, of Rochester, and an ornery "little" brother to his sister, Rebecca (Adam) Cox-Parsons of Benton, Ark. He is also survived by paternal grandmother, Grace Brawner of Pawnee, and a multitude of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his brother, William Grant, and grandparents, James R. Funderburk, and Lewis and Ruby Bennett.

Jimmy was born May 21, 1985, to a hardworking farm family. He graduated from Rochester High School where he loved playing football. He earned his Construction Management Degree from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. He enjoyed duck, goose and deer hunting, fishing, and hanging out with his family and friends at the river. His favorite times were on a tractor. Farming ran deep in his soul and he bled John Deere Green.

Visitation will be held at Wilson Park Funeral Home in Rochester on Thursday, March 5, 2015, from 4-7 p.m. A memorial service will be held at South Fork Church of Christ on Friday, March 6, 2015, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. David Upchurch officiating. The family will have a celebration, and scatter Jimmy's ashes at his favorite hunting spot and farmland around his 30th birthday.

We will always love and miss you Jimmy. May you finally rest in peace. Jimmy strongly encouraged the future generation to embrace agriculture.
