James I. "Jim" Fishback Sr.

SPRINGFIELD, IL - James I. "Jim" Fishback Sr., 79, of Springfield, died Thursday, April 16, 2015, surrounded by his family at St. John's Hospital.

Jim was born Sept. 4, 1935, in Carlinville, Ill., the son of Walter and Ula Mae Pulliam Fishback. He married Patty Kail; she preceded him in death.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and worked as a truck driver. He enjoyed fishing, baking, bowling and NASCAR.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Betty Mae Delgado; and sister, Shirley.

He is survived by three children: Kelly (Brian) Frakes of Springfield, Jimmie (Michelle) Fishback, of Iowa, and Debbie Fishback of Springfield; two sisters, Betty Jo (Don) Dorworth and Joyce Mulvane; one brother, Tom Ambrose; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be at noon on Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at Ellinger-Kunz & Park Funeral Home.
