James Raymond Campbell, 82, of Springfield, IL passed away on Friday January 26, 2024 at Memorial Medical Center.

James was born in Springfield on November 29, 1941 and was the son of Raymond J. and Catherine H. (Konrad) Campbell.

He attended and graduated from Cathedral Boys High School. In August of 1975, he married Kathleen J. Cunningham, and she preceded him in death. James was a carpenter by trade and built houses in the Springfield area for over 45 years. He and his wife also managed several rental properties for over 30 years. He enjoyed taking care of his family and friends and if anyone needed help, James was always there. James also loved taking his 1970 Nova to car shows for many years.

He was preceded in death by his wife; parents, one sister and one niece.

James is survived by his son, Charles Campbell (wife, Lori) of Springfield; daughter, Jessica Courtney (husband, Nick) of Springfield; grandchildren, Coral Lettimore (husband, Joel) and Brandon Campbell both of Springfield; and one great grandchild.

Cremation services will be accorded.

Visitation will be held at Ellinger-Kunz and Park Funeral Home, 530 North 5th St. Springfield, IL 62702 on Friday February 2, 2024 from 11:00 am till the time of the Memorial Service at 12:00 pm. Committal will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
