Jack P. Moore, 84, of Rochester, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at Springfield Memorial Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.

Jack was born on November 11, 1942, in Springfield, the son of Paul and Mary Kay (Falleto) Moore. On September 18, 1964, he married Carol Detmers, and together they shared 62 wonderful years of marriage.

A lifelong car enthusiast, Jack proudly followed in his father's footsteps as a second-generation garage owner. He had a passion for working on automobiles, building both custom and original cars, and was well known for his craftsmanship. His work was featured in several newspaper articles and even appeared on the cover of MOPAR magazine. He was a member of National Hot Rod Association, and the Central Illinois Corvette Club. Jack also proudly served as a volunteer on the Rochester Fire Department for 20 years.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Paula Mogle.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carol; his sons, Jody “Joe” (Debbie Yates) and Tony (Robin Moore), both of Rochester; his grandson, Tobin Moore; his brother, Jerry Moore; his sister, Jean (Rodney) Fleeners; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 5, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Wilson Park Funeral Home, 200 E. Main St., Rochester. Family and friends who own classic or antique cars are invited to bring them to the visitation to honor Jack by lining them up outside the funeral home. Casual attire is requested.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
