Ieleen Heyland

SPRINGFIELD, IL- Ieleen (nee Albert) Heyland, 93, passed to life eternal on July 8, 2015, at Memorial Medical Center, in Springfield, Illinois.

She was born in Nilwood, Illinois, to Jesse Albert and Marie (nee Richards) Albert Cantrall and Archie L. Cantrall. She married Juel C. Heyland, and he preceded her in death.

Ieleen is survived by one son, Edward Allen (Barry Carpenter) Heyland of Dallas, TX; two brothers, Russell (wife, Rose) Albert, Chatham, IL, and Floyd (wife, Glenna) Albert, Sugarland, TX; four nieces; four nephews; seven great-nieces; seven great-nephews; two great-great-nieces and one great-great-nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Eldon Albert; and her sister, Geraldine Johnson.

Ieleen graduated in the first class from Lanphier High School in 1940. She was a member of First Evangelical United Brethren Church until it merged with the Methodist Church and continued her membership in Trinity United Methodist Church. When it disbanded she transferred her membership to Northside Ministries. During her lifetime, Ieleen worked in many capacities at her church. She was a Sunday school teacher, Vacation Bible School teacher, and sang in the choir. She loved all kinds of music.

Ieleen worked at Sangamo Electric during the War. Then she and her husband, Juel, owned and operated Springfield Cleaning Company until Juel retired. She then worked several years for Marine Bank.

Her greatest enjoyment came from being with family, especially with Edward and Barry. They had many adventures together. She enjoyed family get-togethers during the holidays and playing card games. She was always ready to go and have fun. She loved to play Bingo, and she had a ball at everything and enjoyed life.

A Service of Celebration for her life will be on Saturday, July 11, 2015, at Ellinger-Kunz & Park Funeral Home, 530 N. 5th St., Springfield, IL where family and friends can visit with Edward and Barry from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
