Obituary

MECHANICSBURG, ILL. - Ida Eileen Aarup, 80, of Mechanicsburg passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2013 at St. John's Hospital due to an accident.
She was born on July 29, 1933 in Petersburg, the daughter of Anthony B. and Thelma Jane Highbaugh Fillbright. She married Carl P. Aarup on Oct. 1, 1955, at the Fifth Presbyterian Church in Springfield and he preceded her in death on May 7, 1988.
Eileen worked at Brite Lite, worked in ground development, the Brew & Spice Store in Springfield and retired in 2001 from Pryco in Mechanicsburg. She was a member of the AARP, ALL, Women's Club, Senior Center and served on the Sewer Board in Tr-City.
She was preceded in death by her brother Robert Fillbright.
She is survived by two sons, Brian Aarup and wife, Georgia, of Mechanicsburg and Blane Aarup and wife, Alysa, of Greenville; three grandchildren, Bjorn, Blaise, and Carson Aarup.
Visitation will be today from 9:30 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11:30 a.m. at the Buffalo Hart Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Mary Jessup officiating. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Buffalo Hart Presbyterian Church.
