Helen D. Hendrix, 74, of Rushville, passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2017 at St. John's Hospital.

Helen was born on March 23, 1943 in Johannesburg Twp, Washington County, IL the daughter of William and Lizzy Turner Prater. After Lizzy's death she was raised by William and Ruth Prater. She married William Doyle Hendrix; on February 19, 1959; he preceded her in death.  She married Don Wise on July 23, 1999.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; one sister; two half-brothers and two half-sisters.

She is survived by four children, W.D. Hendrix of Rushville, Lola J. Hendrix of Odessa, TX, Ruthie Palmer of LaHarpe and Billie Haywood of Rushville; two sisters, Juanita Akers and Mary Sutton; one stepbrother, Larry Gunthrie; fifteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Helen became owner and operator of Café Littleton in 1995 where she worked for over 10 years.  She later worked as a teacher's aide in the Rushville School district and was a bus driver for over 25 years.  She enjoyed riding horses when she was younger.  She later enjoyed watching TV, gardening, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren.

Cremation will be accorded.  There will be a celebration of life at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at the Littleton Gym in Littleton, IL.
