Helen Jean Dale, 94, of Illiopolis and formerly of Chicago, passed away June 2, 2016 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.

She was born September 11, 1921 in Latham, IL the daughter of Charles and Lula Smith Dale.

Helen was an avid reader, enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, and loved to travel.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three siblings, Inez Dale (Hunter), Ernest Dale, and Charles Dale.

Helen is survived by a niece, Ellen Whitehead; and two nephews, Ed and Don Dale.

A graveside service will be held at 11 AM Monday, June 6, 2016 at Long Point Cemetery in Niantic, IL.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Illiopolis Public Library.
