Harry Edward McKenzie Jr., 80, of Springfield, passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center.

Harry was born on August 3, 1937 in Springfield the son of Harry Edward and Ann (Penny) McKenzie Sr.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp and was a house manager for SPARC and worked as a patient care tech later in life. He was a lifelong, diehard Cubs fan. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Debra Diane Lael.

He is survived by children, Bill, Bob, Brian McKenzie, Adam Frank and Brandi (Robert) McKenzie-Britton; companion, Barbara Rogers; brother, Bill McKenzie; grandchildren, Rowan Britton, Ethan Britton, Meyer Furling and several other grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be from 4-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2017 with a wake service at 4:00 p.m. at Ellinger-Kunz & Park Funeral Home. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 29, 2017 at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Reverend James Isaacson officiating.  Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
