Harry Edward Leonard

DAWSON, IL - Harry Edward Leonard, 60, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013, at the Danville VA Medical Center.

He was born Sept. 24, 1953, in Springfield, the son of William Donald and Dorothy Abbott Leonard. He served in the U.S. Army from 1971-1974. Harry retired after forty-five years as an auto mechanic with Sears, Ford and Goodyear.

He loved his Fords, racing and showing his cars.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Marilyn K. Leonard.

Survived by his son, Troy E. Leonard (fiancAC.e, Kala) of Dawson; granddaughter, Niyah Leonard; three sisters: Shirley Pickel, Lee Anne Leonard, Molly (Harry) Leonard-Smith; brothers: Richard L. (Janelle) Leonard, Fred (Linda) Leonard, Mike (Denise) Leonard, and Steve Leonard Sr.; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Dec. 14 from 10 a.m. until time of funeral services at 11:30 a.m. at the Fullenwider-Park Funeral Home in Mechanicsburg. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Illiopolis.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Danville VA Medical Center.
