Harry "Jay" R. Anderson Jr., 65, of Springfield passed away on Friday February 2, 2024 at his home in the company of his family.

Jay was born in Englewood, New Jersey on March 16, 1958 and was the son of Harry R. Anderson Sr. and Carol B. Warren.

He spent his childhood growing up in Berlin, IL before moving back out East. He married his wife, Ann on November 22, 1986 in Edgewater, NJ. After the birth of their son, Christopher, the couple moved back to the Central Illinois area and remained.

Jay loved spending time with his family, being a grandfather and a homemaker. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and was a huge Dale Earnhardt Sr. fan. Jay also enjoyed fishing, bowling, and drinking cold Natty Light beer.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Jay is survived by his wife, Ann (Rosenthal) Anderson of Springfield; son Christopher M. Anderson (wife, Bella) of Loami; granddaughters, Millie and Magnolia Anderson; son Arthur Nolan III (wife, Abby) of Springfield, grandsons, Rowen and Hendricks Nolan; siblings, Jim Anderson, Richie Anderson (wife, Karen), Kathy Anderson-Matthys (husband, Marc), Ed Anderson, Jean Brown, Dawn Woodrum; as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Visitation will take place Friday February 9, 2024 at Ellinger-Kunz and Park Funeral Home in Springfield, IL from 5:00 pm till the time of the funeral service at 7:00 pm.

Memorial donations may be made to the Cancer Charity or foundation of the donors choosing.
