RIVERTON, IL - Harold Thomas Shepherdson, 82, of Riverton, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 11, 2015, at Memorial Medical Center.
Harold was born Dec. 2, 1932, in Springfield, the son of Thomas W. and Lillie M. Barger Shepherdson.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. He worked as a brick mason for over 50 years. During that time he had worked for Evan-Mason Inc. and co-owned H&M Masonry Co. He was a member of Riverton United Methodist Church, Riverton Masonic Lodge #786 and Disabled American Veterans.
He loved fishing, hunting, and boating. He was also a licensed pilot and enjoyed flying.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one son, Mark Shepherdson.
He is survived by longtime companion, Marilyn Maxwell of Chatham; daughter, Rebecca E. Shepherdson of Springfield; two sons, John P. Shepherdson of Chatham and David M. Shepherdson (Kim Johnson) of Newburgh, Ind.; one sister, Ann Ebers of Springfield; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at noon on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2015, at Ellinger-Kunz & Park Funeral Home with Pastor John M. Cross officiating.
Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery where the Inter-Veterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County will conduct honors.
