Gloria J. (Nichols) Schroeder, 82, of Springfield, IL passed away on Wednesday March 5, 2025 surrounded by her family. Gloria was born in Peoria, IL on March 13, 1942 and was the daughter of William and Nancy Beulah Nichols.

She leaves behind a very large and loving family, who will miss her deeply. Gloria enjoyed arts and crafts and spending time with her family. She had an enormous amount of love that she shared with her family, friends and her community.

Gloria was also very proud of her career as a CNA in Oregon and here in Springfield for more than 30 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Schroeder; sister, Christine Smith; several grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Gloria is survived by her children, Teresa (Mark) Foster, Nanci (Alan) Cox, Melanie Ohara, Crystal (Mitchell) Wheeler, Monica (John) Gettings, Johnella (Jeff) Gettings, Rich (Cinthia) Dyer, Marshall (Kerry) Dyer, Yvonne Ledbetter, and Richelle (Scott) Loftus; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; as wells as great great grandchildren.

Cremation services will be accorded.

Visitation will be held on the morning of Tuesday March 11, 2025 from 10:30 am till the time of the Memorial Service at 11:30 am. Services are being observed at Ellinger-Kunz Funeral Home, 530 North 5th Street, Springfield, IL 62702.

Gloria will be laid to rest at Camp Butler National Cemetery at 1:00pm on March 11, 2025.
