Gladys Sauers, 96, of Riverton, formerly of Dawson, IL. Passed away on Thursday November 14, 2024 surrounded by her family. Gladys was born on July 6, 1928, in New Berlin, IL., the daughter of Walter and Mary (Duewer) Brown. She married Robert Sauers on December 11, 1949 and he preceded her in death in 2016.

Gladys graduated from Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Springfield, and went on to work as a nurse, retiring from Memorial Medical Center.

Gladys is survived by her brother, Donald Brown; nieces and nephews, Reta Meyer, Thomas Meyer Jr., Mary Stapleton, Lamont Meyer, Ida Taylor, Daryl Dority, Susan Kohl, Jeff Brown and cousin, Debbie Kuhns.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 20, from 10:00AM until the time of the funeral service at 11:00AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church 705 E. Menard Street, in Riverton. Pastor Michael Koschmann will officiate and burial will follow at Mechanicsburg Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Riverton, or to Springfield Memorial Hospital.
